Pathonex Disinfectant

Pathonex is a ready to use hypochlorous acid-based solution, a powerful disinfectant/sanitiser which effectively kills bacteria and viruses. Pathonex is an activated aqueous solution produced by changing the properties of water into a powerful oxidizing agent exhibiting antimicrobial properties. Pathonex is suited for Residential, Commercial and Industrial Food Contact applications.

Pathonex has demonstrated efficacy against human coronavirus, poliovirus, and norovirus as well as many other pathogens. These viruses are similar to, or more resilient to disinfection than SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that is causing the COVID-19 pandemic) Per the emerging pathogen protocol guides, Pathonex is, therefore, likely to also be effective against similar emerging pathogens.

How It Works

Most bacteria have good defences that can repel common sanitisers. Whether it is repelling the negative charge of PAA or Bleach, or rejecting a large molecule like a QUAT, high concentrations of these active sanitizing agents are required to overwhelm the bacteria’s defences. Pathonex, on the other hand, is a small, neutrally charged molecule that is not detected by the bacteria, making it effective at comparably very low concentrations which eliminate the risk of chemical burns and exposure. Because of its small/neutral charge, it can utilize multiple reaction mechanisms to inactivate bacteria/viruses making it very difficult (if not impossible) for bacteria to form a resistance removing the need to rotate chemistries.
